Studying galactic matters requires an open mind and the ability to consider the strangest options. If there is intelligent life in our universe it is likely to be way more advanced than we are. Our notions of physics and what constitutes reality are probably very limited in comparison to other civilizations in other worlds. It is from this background that I would like to introduce a phenomenon that was described by two different contactees, namely the possibility that interstellar communication was possible with a common radio set, that only needed some relatively minor adjustments. The examples are from the 1960s when radios with antennas were still a regular occurence.
THE CASE OF HAL WILCOX
It was only last week that I discovered the testimony of Hal Wilcox. In 1968 this man gave a presentation in the United States on what he had experienced on a planet Selo in the Alpha Centauri star system (1,2). He is not the only person to talk about this planet and the people living there. You can find out more about Selo, the Selosi and their colonies in our galaxy at (3,4). In the context of this article I would like to focus on an example Wilcox gave during that presentation with regard to radio communication. The following quote is about the moment he got invited to join the Selosii to their planet on February 15, 1968:

“And that particular occurrence… took place after, first, I was instructed to buy a shortwave receiver. Now, get that straight in your mind, because later I’m going to talk about a ham radio station. I don’t want you to get the two mixed up. So it became my dubious duty to turn on a shortwave receiver every morning at a certain time to a particular frequency and listen. And morning after morning, I got strange sounds, but that was about the extent of it. So in the morning… In the morning of the 15th, I was in a normal, discouraged state of mind when I turned on the receiver and listened to a bunch of static.
And I heard this voice come over and telling me to get dressed and get up to the Angeles National Forest. So I thought to myself, well, I’m hearing things. So I just sat there. I didn’t even move. And the second time this came over the radio, and I used the word radio very loosely, I did get up, get dressed, and I took what I had. And went up to the National Forest. I drove up there, and I was greeted at a prior arranged place by a man and a woman who were normally dressed from our way of thinking. And we boarded a pod, P-O-D, which could be described as a 15-foot-long teardrop-shaped vehicle which hovered above the ground very much like a boat would float on the surface of the water.” (1)
A bit further on in the presentation he gives more details about this ‘stellar’ radio communication. One might say that the above example is just a local one. What follows is a description of a direct communication between the city of Farlon on Selo and Hal Wilcox on Earth:
“In March of 1968, using what I generally refer to as a radio, I was able to contact the INO projection chamber, the city of Farlon, planet Selo. And the individual on the other end of the communication, and I repeat myself, this was not a standard radio setup. If it were a standard radio setup, it would take 4.5 years for my signal to reach their planet. That’s why I’m saying it’s not a standard radio setup. But the communication, on March 25, 1968, by reason of INO projection chamber, was from their planet.
“Greetings from Altruis and Alto. This is Alfram from the INO projection chamber in Farlon. I am a male in the communication chamber. I am on duty at this time. We are on the 11th part of our daily cycle, second month, 18th day, absolute time calendar. At this time, I am responsible party, but I am not in charge of this section. You are speaking through an INO. There are several around me which we would call oracles. I am drawing the power source from them through this INO to you.
I am transmitting with the pulse language, therefore your transceiver is reacting to a voice, but it is not the sound of my voice, just as your voice, as it passes into the device at your location, translating the pulses of your device entering your pineal body are converted to the INO stream and make intelligence causing an outflow of information. When you transmit through the speaking device, the INO stream will then be projected out through your transceiver. This should be received by our transceiver and resonated through one of our seven oracles, and I shall hear what you have to say.“.

THE CASE OF EDWIN AND THE PEOPLE FROM KOLDAS (1986 variant)
In the preface of the book ‘UFO Contact from Planet Koldas‘ by Carl van Vlierden (6), the publisher writes: “This case is unique because the contacts from the extraterrestrials at times came in on an ordinary commercial radio set that was modified very simply by one of the UFOnauts when he lived near the contactee close to Durban, South Africa for a time.“
For twelve years the communication between Edwin and the people from Koldas occurred through a radio set. After that period they switched to a more telepathic mode of communicating, even allowing for the possibility to look through each other’s eyes (7).
Let’s take a look at a few examples here as well. Here’s a part where Edwin describes how his radio set was configured:
“I have often been asked why others can’t tune in and listen to these transmissions from them. It should be clearly understood that they are not the same as the ones from our own national broadcasting stations. Although I use an ordinary receiver and antenna, there is a fundamental difference. In this case, the antenna is not connected to the front end (RF stage) as it usually is, but to the power supply (rear end) of the receiver. Back to front, so to speak. As this receiver and tape-recorder are transistorized, only 12 volts are needed to make it work. That’s how they can start both receiver and tape recorder in my absence and leaving messages for me. I always leave a blank tape in the recorder with the ‘recordbutton’ down, but the power switch on ‘off’. (6, p.18)

“To make a transmission, the spacecraft takes up a position directly above our house. They are approximately 520 km above the ground, but are not visible to the naked eye. On some occasions they come lower especially to show themselves to us, but for radio transmissions they remain at about that height. To communicate, they send down a narrow beam, like a beam of light, but of course it is invisible. I think that’s how they energize the receiver, by beaming the power the transistors need, and this beam carries the message. The receiver does not need to be tuned to any particular frequency. I have added a switch to cut off the front end (RF stage) of the set. This is the reason no other receiver can pick up these transmissions, unless they know one’s location and the antenna is connected to the final stage.” (p.19)
SOME REFLECTIONS
Doing this kind of research is not always easy. Sometimes the information can be rather fragmented and there are only some clues to certain phenomena. In this case I have presented to examples of people communicating with extraterrestrials through radios. I have also described such an example in the mainly Italian ‘Friendship/Amicizia’-case (8). A situation is given where two radios were tuned into the exact same frequency, and then one radio could receive their message while the radio next to it, simply continued with its normal program.
In the Selo case there was a clear example of direct communication from another star system. Apparently the 4.5 lightyears were no problem at all. The South African Koldas case presents examples where Edwin talks to his contacts through a radio set where his contacts are on Koldas, sometimes using an intermediary station called ‘Melchor’ in our solar system to transmit the messages, and sometimes through some ‘beam’ hundreds of kilometers above his house. Edwin describes a way of configuring his radio set that doesn’t make any sense.
Apparently they don’t use normal radio waves or any other kind of electromagnetic mode of transmission to communicate. It seems as if only the functionality of receiving and transmitting information and sounds is used and that some completely different way of interstellar information transfer is used. Could it be that somehow telepathy is used for that and a translation into radio waves is only done at the end? If anyone has got any bright ideas to solve this issue, please let us know. (10) “However, each time that they broadcast they start out with the same thing. It says in English, this is the Selo transmitting station speaking to 49 planets, eighth day, second month, seventh year of Zemclaw. And then they go on with their transmission. And I have pointed out to individuals who have tried to, in quotes, get in on the act that it’s possible to get, well, this is one of my little call cards, WA6AYH, which is the station. It’s possible to get into the act by reason of a $24 shortwave radio which allows you to pick up everything that’s being said on this ham network.” (1,2)
